In ancient times, healing was common good in Southern Africa. The shamans entered a trance and healed spiritual sickness by the members of their community. A great diversity of healing techniques were used. Also an abundant knowledge of plants and herbs was available. Carol Mathebula carries this old tradition in her work.
Vunkuwa is an unique technique that involves body warm-up, pressure points, deep tissue, manipulation of the spinal cord, energy balancing and African Medicinal plants and the application of massage oils wich are made out of these plants. More then 400 movements are actually an integral part of the massage. These 400+ movements are used for individual needs of longevity.
