Vunkuwa traditional massage courses & education

Vunkuwa traditional massage courses &education

A warm welcome to Vunkuwa International Academy - The Most Astonishing massage Technique

Vunkuwa® African Massage is a unique massage technique that originates from bantoe & bushmen techniques in Southern Africa for wellbeing & longetivity. At the dawn of humanity many techniques to heal & cure for the body came into existence in Southern Africa. Plants & herbs were used, rubbing techniques became better every generation, the variety on techniques for longetivity & wellbeing became widely spread amongst the population of Southern Africa. This wisdom and knowledge was passed on from generation to generation. Carol Rahaba Mathebula translated this tradition into contemporary massage techniques which incorporate the mystic and the subtle techniques from her ancestors.

Vunkuwa is a unique African methodology passed on through generations which implement the use of natural old traditional ways of Afro-Wellness. This ancient method of healing expands our knowledge on how to connect with the body in its essence while focusing on breathing patterns, temperature, color shades that appears when the body is out of balance and bone structural awareness. We guide you how to incorporate the bone structural awareness into the treatment.

In our courses we would like to draw your attention on different major themes that we consider teaching you: the feet and the body temperature, the heat and the cold.

The feet

Your poor, neglected feet are a most common neglected part of the body for most people. The average person walks the equivalent of three times around the Earth in a lifetime. That is enormous wear and tear on the 26 bones, 33 joints and more than 100 tendons, ligaments and muscles that make up the foot.53 percent of respondents reported foot pain so severe that it hampered their daily function. Yet, except for women who get regular pedicures, most people don’t take much care of their feet. A lot of people think foot pain is part of the aging process and accept it, and function and walk with pain. In Vunkuwa courses we learn you more on this important issue. Master how to take care of the feet properly using African massage methodology and create total wellbeing.

The body temperature, the heat and the cold

Heat and cold are random forces of nature. When two objects come in contact with a different internal energy level (temperature) the one object loses energy to the one with the lower temperature. This is a fact of nature. Our internal energy is influenced by the environment and we should do everything to keep the balance. Avoiding loss of energy starts with considering the heat generators in our body. Heat is dispersed through our circular system en created through feet, organs, brains and muscles. When heat generation is out of balance we are vulnerable for disease. Here is where Vunkuwa massage comes in. We help the body that lost its balance to reheat or to cool down by applying different techniques. Just as too hot, one’s temperature can be too cold. There we adjust by rising or lowering the heat and create total wellbeing.

At Vunkuwa, we do not only recommend treatment but focus mainly on the root source of the blockages in the body. Through the implementation of an adaptive learning process, we offer an educational program split into different modules whereby we give you the best learning experience.
